ROAD ADVENTURES HOT SPOT: MOHICAN STATE PARK - LOUDONVILLE, OH
We are choosing to stay local for this month’s Hot Spot location! Mohican State Park in Loudonville, Ohio is a family-friendly, nature-packed, and adventure-filled destination that is conveniently located in North Eastern Ohio. Mohican Gardens
Mohican Gardens offers the perfect backdrop for weddings and receptions during the summer and fall. Located on the historic John Garst Farm, the barn and original farmhouse are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. A retail greenhouse offers flowers, vegetables, and small fruit plants during the spring selling season. The 2-1/2 acre spring-fed lake is surrounded by meandering garden paths.
River Run Canoe Livery
Allow your adventuresome spirit come out with a day spent going down the river in a canoe or kayak! River Run Canoe Livery has two convenient locations and offer both 7.5 and 11 mile trip options. Coast down the river and enjoy taking in the fresh air, wildlife, and beautiful scenery that the area has to offer!
Ugly Bunny Winery
Ugly Bunny Winery has a beautiful tasting room and patio overlooking their gorgeous property. They offer a wide variety of wines, cider and food! You can expect a welcoming and relaxing environment every time you visit!
Black Fork Bistro
Black Fork Bistro opened in March of 2020 and is located on Main Street in downtown Loudonville. With a fun exterior and a casual, inviting atmosphere that pays homage to Mohican, the bistro is unique to anything Loudonville has seen before.
The menu features an array of options, from a classic burger or steak, to a brussels sprout pizza or gluten free wrap. It was crafted with the goal of catering to the community as a whole so we can all come together, share a meal, and have one more reason to love this quaint, yet thriving town!
Mohican State Park
Mohican’s popular large campground offers 100 electric, 51 full hook-up, and 33 non-electric sites. The best part is that some of the non-electric sites are located along the river!
Other amenities located near the campground complex include archery range, multi-use trails system, and historic grist mill.
