Downtown Erie
While visiting Erie, be sure to visit downtown where you’ll find great food, shopping, and tourist activities! We recommend grabbing a dinner with your family at Firebirds Woodfired Grill where you’ll find steak, lobster, burgers and more. Also, while you’re downtown, visit the Erie Maritime Museum covering the history of Lake Erie and a beautiful look at many 20th-century pieces.
Presque Isle Lighthouse
One of Erie’s most famous historic sites is on the North shore of Presque Isle State Park and is open during the summer for visitors to tour and enjoy! There is nothing man-made that is quite as gorgeous as a historic lighthouse, and standing at sixty-eight feet tall, Presque Isle Lighthouse is no exception. Additionally, there are two other lighthouses in the vicinity: North Pier Lighthouse and the Land Lighthouse.
Presque Isle State Park
Although there are many adventures our renters can take while visiting Erie, one of the most memorable includes strolling through Presque Isle State Park. Covering 3,200 acres, this State Park is a sandy peninsula next to Lake Erie; it is Pennsylvania’s only shore and coastline. Here you can enjoy swimming, hiking, biking, fishing, and boating – all activities, which offer you and your guests fun for days in the great outdoors.
Sara Coyne Campgrounds
Next to Presque Isle State Park lies Sara Coyne Campgrounds. The unique thing that this campsite offers is fifty full RV hookups right off of the beach! The opportunity to camp on the beach is a rare one that is worth taking advantage of. While enjoying a beachfront campfire and cooking up some delicious camp food, take a day to visit Waldameer Amusement Park just south of the campground!
